Welcome 2012

It's officially the 1st of January, the year 2012

This is the year of the Dragon, and therefore I am a Dragon.
This year will be all about looking forward and never looking back at the past.
This year will be lived with no regrets, which means grabbing every opportunity possible.
This year will be lived with no "what if's " but more of  "I tried" and mostly more of "I did it".
This year will be lived with living life on the positive side of things, instead of the negatives.
This year will be to those who greatly deserve my time instead of those who waste it.

This year will be more of new beginnings with new people with more and new knowledge.
I am ready for this year, this is my year

Cheers!

Show Off Your GET-UP

I'm the type of person who strongly believes that everyone has a sense of style and fashion. I believe everyone gets up and shows off to the world how unique an individual can be.I do it. Why you may ask? Maybe it's because you feel good about showing your own self to the world and also influencing people to be you , you have to be happy and follow your own rules. Hey, if you show you're happy and are happy, you influence a lot to follow. You influence people to help make changes in the world , one by one, and it started with you and you're love for shopping and fashion. Well, what if I shared with you right now how you can make a difference by donating to different advocacies just by your love of fashion, style , and your shopping spree?

Presenting :
Golden ABC (GABC) : Creating Value for Fashion

Golden ABC is the country's fashion pioneer and owner of leading brands of Penshoppe, Oxygen, ForMe, Memo, and Regatta. It was established in Cebu, Philippines in 1986 with a vision of being the most admired Asian fashion brands company.

On it's 25th anniversary (on August 25, 2011) , it launched it's CSR platform entitled Get Up, which engages customers in raising awareness of GABC's various advocacies in education, community building, environment, and arts & culture.

How does this work?

" GET UP is not just about what people wear, but it is also the call to action to do something valuable for others and the country "
 - Bernie H. Liu, CEO & President of Golden ABC

Golden ABC , through its brands, is giving a chance for customers to donate PHP 25.00 for every minimum single receipt purchase of PHP 1,000.00 to the advocacy of their choice. Customers who have purchase of PHP 1,000.00 will be given a card with a code inside and shoelaces attached.

After receiving this card, it will help you start your donation process by logging onto www.getup.ph and to learn more about the advocacies and partner institutions that you will be able to help out. What makes this donating process more fun? The customers will be able to experience the Get Up augmented reality on the site!

Mr. Efren Penaflorida explaining about the Augmented Reality

Get Up will officially start on September 1, 2011.  So now's the time to start and go look for your get up because you are not only showing off your get up (what you're wearing) but you're also showing off what a good person you can be by buying what you're wearing for a cause and donating to the advocacy of your choice!

For more information on Golden ABC please log onto : http://goldenabc.com

Surrender the Old, Get a Discount on the New

Every Sunday after Mass, I find myself always going to SM (because it's real near our place like around 10 minutes or less) to either just eat out, do groceries, or just walk around and if I have a bit of an extra extra maybe I'd go and splurge on something haha!

Every time though that I do go to SM I always hope to find something new, or rather see something new instead of a new car in the middle of SM and I always end up thinking to myself how did they get that car inside SM.

When I went to the lower ground floor of SM, I noticed this (despite the mall show that went on with the cleaning up in the center of the mall, despite the people in line to try to win the lotto), this caught my eye:

The Surrender Your Old Jeans Campaign. And yes, you've read it right. " Surrender any of your old jeans and take 25% on your new pair of jeans" . Ok, I know that everyone in the world likes to see and read "Take this much off your purchase" so you all probably thought that's what caught my attention huh haha , no seriously no it did not. What caught my attention was the tagline above the poster that says " Share for the Less Fortunate, Outreaching to the poorest " . So I went to the stall to find out more.

A saleslady came up to me and told me what the campaign was all about. And this is what I learned from our around 15 minute conversation:

This campaign that SM Malls are having encourages shoppers to donate any of their old pairs of jeans for the benefit of the DSWD centers and institutions in Batangas.  For any pair surrendered, the customer will get a 20% discount coupon for their next purchase from any of these participating brands :

  • Bobson
  • Bossini
  • Freego
  • Hammerhead
  • No Fear
  • RRJ
  • Levi's

Everyone will be able to donate their jeans every Friday , Saturday , Sunday until October 9.

So after having that great 15 minutes or less conversation with the sales lady, I think this is a real easy way to help out to the less fortunate for those who want to help out and make a difference. This is a start

I guess moving here to the Philippines did me some good because it helped me open my eyes to many ways that we can help the people that we see here that are in need. So to everyone, please don't pretend that you don't see the many people around us here in the Philippines that need help. We can help them out in so many ways and this is a start. So if you got a ton of old jeans that you don't use anymore, donate them. It will help out another alot.

Are You A Shoe Goddess at Heart?

Give a girl the correct footwear and she can conquer the world
-Bette Midler

Of course! What girl(or rather woman) does not agree with that famous line from Bette Midler? I believe with the right pair of footwear, may it be wedges, sky high heels, platforms, a girl has an instant boost of confidence and indeed she can conquer anything.

I myself is a shoe addict. (Short Story Time ha ha ha!)  When I was younger I went through a boyish phase where I was obsessed with kicks, basketball shoes, running shoes, etc. But as I grew older that's when I started to discover there were more different kinds of shoes than just those kinds. When I had discovered that that's when my love for shoes began.

I'm usually addicted to wedges and boots. Yes, boots. You're probably thinking boots in this hot tropical place that we live in? Well my answer is hell to the yeah.  Since I can't really go out as much because by weekends I usually spend them at home to rest, I started surfing the net looking for a place to buy shoes online that you can sometimes never find in the malls around here. That's when I stumbled upon a multiply site called High Style Fancy.

Online shopping has never been more easier with High Style Fancy. By partnering up with a U.S Based Colleague, High Style Fancy brings us none the less the most fashionable and the best quality of shoes ever.

Ms.Cher Mercene has been operating High Style Fancy for a good deal of time now because she has gained the trust and loyalty of numerous shoe goddesses. The site houses shoes from flats to sky high heels, from wedges to boots, to any style for any occasions at very reasonable prices and a good period of waiting time for pre-ordered  items. For those who are not really in favor for pre-order, don't worry High Style Fancy feels your needs and has already on hand stocks for those shoe goddesses that are in need for a killer pair in no time.

Want to see the killer shoes in person?  When you either follow High Style Fancy on Facebook or Multiply , the site will give you up to date (and even as well as discounts) on bazaars that they are in to give you the chance to see the and shop for the shoes in person.

The Personn Behind xoxoGEiCH

Hello my loves! Welcome to xoxoGEiCH. First and foremost, this is actually my very first entry. *Clap Clap Clap* Even though please excuse the whole blog because it sorta still is under construction. Html, codes, & any other computer generating mechanisms and I aren't really close friends yet. Anyways I would also like to thank you all for stumbling across my newly created blog yay! There should be a reason why you came across here other than the fact that you just searched if I did have a blog since I'm mostly posting anything that I hear on my Twitter ha ha ha! So let me tell you a little (hopefully short) story of how I wanted to start and try to get into blogging since this is my first post I would like my lovely readers to get to know who I am. The person behind xoxoGEiCH.

For basics, my real name is Michelle Anne. Not Geich. Geich was a nickname given and took on a life  of it's own when I first entered college at St.Paul Manila University and was given to one of the greatest people I've ever met in the Philippines. It's actually Geichie (sounds like Kitchie, but Gee-chie). The nickname was born when they found out I came from Japan before moving here. I actually forgot how the wonderful Yessa Zolyvar came up with it but it had something to do with Japan. So there goes another fact : I came from Japan. I wasn't born there, I just lived there for about 8 years or so. And no, I don't know Japanese, which is a total fail. I'm really 23 but then I get mistaken good amounts of time for a 16 year old. I'll take it as a compliment since I really do look like a little kid and I'm not that tall. I'm actually standing tall at 4'11 , and I'm PROUD. ha ha ha! So those are just some basics to get to know me.

Next .. why I wanted to start a blog .. actually when I was back in Middle School around 7th grade in Japan, the site xanga.com went popular among us kids there. Since we were kids back then and if you didn't have a xanga , we therefore concluded you weren't cool if you didn't have one or add me as you're friend . Don't you just love how most of us when we were younger thought? I was really active on that, but it became more of a personal blog. I didn't even know that was a blog. I just thought of it as an online diary or something. Wanna see my xanga but don't laugh because it was crazy how I used to talk " all like that " --> http://xanga.com/xMiiCHELLEx  . Before all this online writing , I kept journals growing up. I have about ...well hundreds of them. Every night I would write about my day, what happened, how I felt, and in the end I always thought when I grow up I'll be FAMOUS and be a writer of something and these journals will be published because I was confident alot can relate to the stuff we went through as kids. Big Dreamin' for me actually. It all stopped though when I had moved here. Through the culture shock and schooling I had no more time to write. It all came back when I started working. I met a blogger. Read their blog. Saw they enjoyed what they did and enjoyed writing (no doubt I love writing when I'm in the mood). Met other bloggers and saw they had a strong bond with each other and same interests. I knew I wanted in. I wanted to share my passion also for writing the way they did and either help people with my posts or make a difference at the most. So TA-DAH . Here it is! Hey it's a start right?

I was told I had to narrow down on what my blog would be about. It was hard cause I wanted to write about basically anything but then it would be harder if I did that. So I thought, what do I like writing about the most or what makes me happy when writing? Simple. CLOTHES&SHOES&ALL THINGS KIKAY. So I plan to make my first one all about fashion and maybe a bit of beauty. If it's successful, I wanted to blog about food. I love eating I love experimenting with it. Well not, experimenting like mashing stuff together but new types of food that I've never tried before. But for now, I'm hoping this one will be okay.

Right now I would like to thank one of my blogger friends Gellie Abogado (also known as Gellesh.com ) . She's been pushing me to start one for awhile already and hearing her say " The world of Fashion Blogging has been waiting for you " or something like that made me feel wow . WOW, because someone believed in me and right now I would like to thank you for that. So everyone please do check out her blog.

So lovely readers, wishing for all your support in this and hope this goes good!

xoxo GEiCH
